Morini I agree, I’d much prefer an actual new team on the grid, but if this would at least sure up Sauber and make them more competitive.

The Sauber name will disappear from the Formula 1 grid in 2019 as the team officially rebrands as Alfa Romeo Racing.

1950 Farina  WDC.

1951 Fangio WDC.

Gareth tells me there was no WCC until 1958.

Fantastic news to have Alfa Romeo back in F1 & we wish them well.

Going to be difficult not to think of them as Sauber. Is Peter Sauber still involved this year?

Regarding Croft, there is a free solution available. Here are the instructions :-

1. Turn on TellyBox
2. Change to SSF1 channel
3. Press "mute" on remote (this step is important)
4. Turn on DAB radio
5. Tune to R5SLX
6. Enjoy race

Long-time Ferrari man Alessandro Cinelli has been hired as the new head of aerodynamics at Alfa Romeo Racing.
The 44-year-old replaces Jan Monchaux, who was recently promoted to the role of technical director as Simone Resta is leaving this week to return to Maranello.

Cinelli will start work at Sauber Motorsport on August 19th after what appears to be a short gardening leave following his 17-year-stint at Ferrari.

Not massively surprised by the rumours all is not well in camp Alfa Sauber. It was always going to depend on how well they performed, and the truth is they've been a bit meh. Ferrari want a B-team, not a C-team. I'd also figured there were ructions over Giovinazzi, given Ferrari all but announced his contract at Alfa for 2020, when Freddie was talking about the Hulk.
