The Frenchman has crashed more often than most including one behind the Safety Car in Baku and then causing a multi-car pile up at the start of this Spanish GP.
His adventures have reflected in the points with Grosjean on 21 while his team-mate Kevin Magnussen has 45 to his name.
His troubled season has led to speculation that this year could be Grosjean’s last with Haas.
Steiner says they won’t be rushed into making a decision.
“I don’t want to talk about the future,” the team boss told France’s Auto Hebdo.
“We will study this question after the summer break.
“We have not made any decisions.
“I have a lot of respect for Romain on a human level.
“Who would have taken the risk of joining us three years ago? He believed in us and our project.”

Majority of people think he is a goner.  To me the guy had a lot of potential but I think he has never kicked on from a promising driver.  He could find his way back on to the grid at soem time in the future but he sure has come down from at one time being discussed as an option for Ferrari to out of a drive for Haas ( Probably, nothing in life is certain except Death and Taxes).

Morini, I replied to this to show you I have learned how to use the quote system you wanted me to, but how do you get rid of those big ugly assed boxes?

You've made an old man very happy.

If you are being serious and are talking about all the lazy "nested" replies on here then the best way to trim any unwanted boxes is to use : quote -> quick reply (rather than quote -> reply) as it shows the tags. They are easy to edit. If, on the other hand, you are being sarcastic Big Grin

In all seriouslness, I've been considering changing the default behaviour of the board so that "reply" button only includes up the most recent reply rather than a complete hard to read chain of messages. There are pros and cons though, as sometimes people tend to leave the context of previous posts for a reason. I'm undecided, but when I get some time I'll set up a test environment and try out a few things. Unfortunately the mobile theme is a different kettle of monkeys, that interface is limited and always will be.

Not a snowballs chance in hell. Once he's gone he ain't never coming back! Too many better yougsters around.

Maybe if they hd spent more time working on their own issues rather than meddling with the Force India takeover and having their points stripped, they wouldn’t have missed the deadline.

I agree with you Purple-Bannana. They were dicks to Force India, and I think it's coming back to haunt them now. As I understand it McLaren and Renault weren't actually involved in complaining about FI. They just wanted assurances that they would pay there debts and actually be forced to meet the FIAs financial fair play rules. It was Haas who kicked up a fuss about it.

Haas has lodged its formal appeal with the FIA over the exclusion of Romain Grosjean’s car from the Italian Grand Prix, Motorsport.com has learned.
The American-owned outfit had until Thursday night to lodge its paperwork with motor racing's governing body, having made a notification of its intent to appeal on the Sunday night at Monza.

Although it is common for teams to withdraw their appeal plans before the 96 hours they have to officially put it in writing, Haas has followed through on its belief it should not have been excluded.
Grosjean was stripped of his sixth placed finish in Italy following a protest from the Renault team about the design of the floor he used.
An investigation by the stewards discovered that Grosjean's car did not comply with regulations that demanded the front corners of the T-tray of the floor have a 50mm radius when viewed from below.

The Haas car fell foul because an update that it had used since the Canadian GP did not comply with a new interpretation of the rules that had been laid down by the FIA in July.
The team was aware of the issue, but had asked the FIA for more time to make amendments to its car because modifications were difficult to implement during the Formula 1 summer shutdown.
Haas raced on with the design but Renault complained in Italy – shortly after Grosjean’s sixth place had moved his team ahead of the French car manufacturer in the constructors’ standings.
Team principal Gunther Steiner was clear after Grosjean’s disqualification that he felt the decision was wrong.

"We do not agree with the Stewards' decision to penalize our race team and we feel strongly that our sixth-place finish in the Italian Grand Prix should stand,” he said.
After its exclusion, Haas said it intended to appeal – and that has now been confirmed in writing to the FIA before the Thursday night deadline.

It is expected that confirmation of the appeal process, and the timing of any court hearing in Paris, will come next week.

But, but, but ... they can't! Haas exclusion gave team Muppet (much needed) extra points in the fantasy league. We are off spot 13 for the first time this season.

Stand firm FIA! You'll be asking Team MM to get off their lazy arse and use "trades" next!

Haas have no chance of over turning the ruling. They were given a specific directive and told by when they needed to comply. They didn't comply in time. You can't pick and choose which sporting regulations you are going to abide by, and which ones you aren't.
