The greatest ever pairing? so many great memory's.   Cool

Edit, lol, we put up same post at the same time.

2nd Edit, ok water in eye, Senna had sent the radio message “a special hello to my dear friend Alain - we all miss you, Alain” from his car to the commentary box over the radio during a lap in practice.

I cried for hours after the crash, such a tragic waste of an unbelievable talent. I was deeply sad for months afterwards, and thinking about it now brings a lump to my throat. Watching Senna's death essentially live on TV had a profound effect on me.

Nice read, thanks Papa.

I remember that weekend like it was yesterday (I know that sounds very corny, but tough, it had a very profound affect on me). Still feel a sense of shock when I think back to it now after all these years. Newey's book was later a bit of an eye opener on the aftermath, but my over-riding memory at the time was the hollow feeling of seeing an icon / idol leave the field of battle for the last time. It was awful to watch all of that unfold on the television.

Amazing to think these guys then went on to race with no real knowledge of the dire outcome of the crash. Can understand their teams not giving them the full story, most of them were still in shock from Roland Ratzenburger as well.

Ayrton will always be the best ever for me. I don't care about statistics, he possessed an aura of greatness and was special on / off the track. No age for anyone to die, but he achieved more in his 34 years than most would in 5 lifetimes. To quote The Who "Don't fade away, I hope I die before I get old". RIP, always be a legend to me.

[edit] I see Jody posted similar sentiments while I was writing that.

Oh Papa this always makes me sad, seeing these vids, This is why I am bemused when people slate halo after Bianchi, who wants to see drivers die for our entertainment?? If Senna had been around I reckon he would of been all for it imo or at least in some kind of way RIP Ayrton a true legend. Also when I first watched "Senna" I used to look at Prost and think twat, until the end that is when he carried his coffin to rest, Papa you git too early to be watching these sad vids !!!
